Branson Vacation Part 6

What A Fake!

Patsy and I went around Branson shopping and taking pictures. We saw this beautiful butterfly at the entrance of Dolly Parton's place. Throughout Branson you can see beautiful gardens and displays of flowers. I just had to get a picture of this display.

We pulled up into the drive, stopped and took our picture! As I drew closer....What?....No Way!...What a Cop Out!....Deceitful.....Plastic Flowers? Phooey---Fake!

Hmmmmm ....wonder what else is fake?

Ruidoso, New Mexico

One of my favorite trips has been to Ruidoso, New Mexico. I saw things that I didn't even know could be found here in the United States!

The lava flows was about my favorite site that we visited. They have a beautiful walkway for tourists that winds through the lava. You can see vegetation growing right out of the lava. There are sink holes that form caverns that are fascinating. You can't go down of course...but who would? Then if you are attentive, you might see a lizard.

It is well worth the trip....I hope to go back soon!

Wonderful Garden Flower

The gerber daisy is a terrific garden flower. It is one of my favorites of all times. It thrives in the flower beds as well as in containers. It will also come back from year to year.

To maintain this easy plant, you simply need to keep an eye out for its root crown. Don't let it get covered with mulch or other substances. This will cause it to smother. As it ages, it will become more and more full and beautiful. It does well in sunlight or partial sunlight.

It's colors range from pale yellow to brilliant red. It is one worth trying for this summer season. Plants are available at the nurseries right now. Go have fun!

Flying Wonder

The hummingbird is a most amazing bird. They are so tiny, but dynamite. While at Ruidoso, New Mexico I had the pleasure of seeing these flying wonders up close and personal. My family couldn't believe the numerous pictures I was snapping....I just wanted to get the best.

These birds are territorial and will fight like flying Aces to defend their feeder! Zoom In, Zoom Out, Zoom all about. It was so fascinating to watch.

Their colors would change with the reflection of the sun. Gorgeous green and red would shine as they would flit in and feed. Sometimes they would drink on the "wing" quickly and at other times they would sit and "slurp" their delicious red drink.
